Product Description
Vitamin A Protective Ointment is a dermatological medicinal product for topical use. It protects the skin, supports regeneration, alleviates inflammatory conditions, and reduces epidermal hyperkeratosis.
Composition
White petrolatum (Palsgaard 0291), lemon aroma, purified water.
Dosage and Administration
Apply a thin layer of the ointment to the affected skin area 1 to 2 times daily. In acute inflammatory conditions, the ointment may be applied several times per day. For protective purposes, apply a thin layer to skin areas exposed to adverse weather conditions.
Mechanism of Action
When applied topically, Vitamin A Protective Ointment forms a protective barrier over damaged tissues. The vitamin A contained in the preparation is directly available to local skin cells, promoting cellular regeneration and accelerating wound healing. The ointment reduces desquamation and hyperkeratosis of the epidermis and minimizes adhesion of dressings to the healing area, thereby reducing discomfort during dressing changes.
