Essentiale® Forte is a herbal medicinal product used in liver diseases. The capsules contain essential phospholipids (Phospholipidum essentiale), which help relieve subjective complaints such as loss of appetite and a feeling of pressure in the upper abdomen caused by liver damage due to an improper diet, exposure to toxic substances, or hepatitis.
Composition of Essentiale® Forte – 300 mg Capsules
Essentiale® Forte for liver health contains phospholipids, which are glycerol esters of choline phosphoric acid and unsaturated fatty acids: linoleic, linolenic, and oleic acids. Once in the liver, these phospholipids are incorporated into liver cell membranes, replenishing existing deficits caused by disease processes and accelerating the regeneration of damaged liver cells.
They also inhibit fibrosis by reducing collagen production and increasing the activity of collagenase, the enzyme responsible for collagen breakdown.
Phospholipids, along with bile acids, play a key role in fat digestion and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. Moreover, polyunsaturated fatty acids contained in the phospholipids lower cholesterol levels and normalize serum lipoproteins, exerting beneficial anti-atherosclerotic effects.
Each capsule of Essentiale® Forte contains 300 mg of phospholipids. The medicine is indicated for use in liver diseases and helps reduce subjective liver-related discomforts, such as loss of appetite or a feeling of pressure in the right upper abdomen caused by liver damage due to improper diet.

Composition
1 capsule contains:

Active substance: Phospholipids from soybean seeds containing (3-sn-phosphatidyl)choline – 300 mg.

Excipients: Refined soybean oil, hydrogenated castor oil, hydrogenated vegetable glycerides (Witepsol W 35), triglycerides of higher fatty acids (Witepsol S 55), ethanol, ethyl vanillin, p-methoxyacetophenone, α-tocopherol.

Capsule shell: Gelatin, yellow iron oxide (E172), black iron oxide (E172), red iron oxide (E172), titanium dioxide (E171), sodium lauryl sulfate, purified water.

Dosage and Administration

Adults and children over 12 years of age: 2 capsules up to three times daily.

Capsules should be taken with meals, swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance, soy, peanuts, or any of the excipients.

Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
Storage

Soybean seeds are common food ingredients and no harmful effects during pregnancy have been observed so far; however, adequate studies are lacking.

The use of Essentiale® Forte during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.
