Dosage and Administration

This medicine should always be used exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as directed by a physician or pharmacist. For topical use on the skin only.
Cepan should be applied after complete wound healing.

Adults and children:
Unless otherwise advised by a healthcare professional, apply a thin layer of Cepan cream to the scar 2–3 times daily, massaging gently.

For old and hardened scars and contractures, a small amount of the cream may be applied to a sterile gauze pad and placed on the scar for 30 to 60 minutes.

Depending on the age of the scar, treatment may last from several weeks to several months. Optimal results require regular application and therapy should begin as early as possible after scar formation.

Pharmacological Action

Cepan scar cream is a topical dermatological preparation containing four active substances: ethanolic onion extract, chamomile extract, sodium heparin, and allantoin. The formulation helps to increase scar elasticity, promote softening and flattening, and reduce discoloration.
Early use supports prevention of excessive scar formation. Cepan reduces the risk of hypertrophic and keloid scars, improves collagen structure, and facilitates hydration and softening of scar tissue. The product penetrates easily into the scar.

Indications

Cepan is indicated for the topical management of scars and keloids, including:

  • scars and keloids resulting from burns and surgical procedures

  • contracture treatment

  • eyelid scars

  • scars following furuncles, ulcers, and acne lesions

Contraindications

Do not use Cepan if the patient has a known hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or excipients.

As with all medicines, this product may cause adverse reactions, although not everybody will experience them.
At the beginning of treatment, redness and burning of the skin may occur (rare). If these symptoms appear, reduce the frequency of application. If symptoms persist despite reduced use, discontinue treatment and consult a physician.

Warnings and Precautions
