Product Description
Brodacid is a topical medicinal product with keratolytic, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, intended for the treatment of common warts.
Ingredients
100 g of solution contains 6.3 g of 80% lactic acid and 10 g of salicylic acid.
Excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide, nitrocellulose (2:1 in ethanol), ethyl acetate.
Dosage and Administration
For external use only. Apply the solution twice daily to clean, dry wart tissue using the applicator. Avoid contact with healthy skin. After application, allow the solution to dry, forming a white film. Treatment duration ranges from several days to 6–8 weeks, depending on therapeutic response.
Mechanism of Action
Brodacid contains lactic acid and salicylic acid, which exert caustic and exfoliating effects, aiding in the removal of hyperkeratotic tissue. Dimethyl sulfoxide enhances the penetration of both acids, while the formulation also provides antibacterial and antifungal activity.
Indications
Brodacid is intended for the elimination of common warts (verrucae vulgares).
Contraindications
Do not use:
-
in patients with hypersensitivity to lactic acid, salicylic acid, or any excipients,
-
on flat warts or lesions located near the eyes, on mucous membranes, or on the face,
-
on hairy or non-hairy moles (naevi),
-
on infected or inflamed skin,
-
during pregnancy or breastfeeding,
-
in children under 2 years of age.
Adverse Reactions
As with all medicines, Brodacid may cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Local burning sensations or erosions with transient discoloration may occur on surrounding skin. If marked redness or any other adverse reactions develop, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. Report any unlisted adverse effects to a doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.
Warnings and Precautions
Consult a doctor, pharmacist, or nurse before use.
For external use only. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and respiratory tract; rinse immediately with plenty of water if accidental exposure occurs.
Apply only to wart tissue. Do not use on intact or damaged healthy skin, as systemic absorption of salicylic acid may occur. If the surrounding skin is accidentally exposed, wash immediately with water.
In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical attention immediately.
Read the label and instructions carefully before each use.
Use with Other Medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist about all medications currently or recently used, as well as any planned treatments.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
If pregnant, breastfeeding, planning a pregnancy, or suspect pregnancy, consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Due to lack of data on use during pregnancy or lactation, Brodacid must not be used in these periods.
